The Role
You will manage civil construction projects in Halifax and surrounding areas, overseeing scheduling, budgets, site coordination, and project delivery from start to finish.
Current work includes civil site servicing, multi-residential construction, and commercial development projects.
Job Details
- Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada
- Salary: Competitive salary (based on experience)

- Terms of employment: Full-time, permanent (30–40 hours per week)
- Start date: As soon as possible
- Work Location: On-site only (no remote work option)
Job Responsibilities
- Plan and manage all phases of civil construction projects (residential, commercial, and industrial)
- Prepare and manage project budgets ($100,001 – $500,000)
- Develop, track, and adjust construction schedules and milestones
- Supervise daily site operations and lead teams of 3–4 employees and subcontractors
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety and cleanliness standards
- Implement quality control and risk management processes
- Coordinate procurement and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment
- Liaise with clients, engineers, consultants, and project stakeholders
- Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting
Job Requirements
Education
- Trade certification or diploma
Experience
- Experience in civil, residential, and/or commercial project management
- Experience with Canadian construction codes and site development practices (preferred)
- Building construction management experience
Certifications
- Construction Trade Certification required
- PMP or equivalent certification considered an asset
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Mac OS
- Experience with CAD software (MicroStation or Civil 3D is an asset)
Work Conditions
- On-site work required (no remote option)
- Local travel and relocation may be required
- Valid driver’s license required
- Physically capable of performing site inspections
